A comprehensive review published on Organic Polyimides (PI) for energy storage applications in Angewandte Chemie by Dr. Amey Nimkar and Dr. Netanel Shpigel. This review deals with PI chemistry for their synthesis protocols, intriguing electrochemistry, and active role in non-active components like binders, separators as well as current collectors. The review also deals with recently developed energetic materials like PI based MOF and COF. A review recently published in "Progress in Materials Science" (impact factor of 48.2) by Dr. Naresh Vangapally from our group and others. This review comprehensively and critically discusses the syntheses, properties and emerging applications of the family of hetero atom doped MXenes.The distinct advantages of doping in applications such as electrocatalysis, energy storage, photovoltaics, electronics, photonics, environmental remediation, sensors, and biomedical applications is elaborated. One of the most abundant natural resources, seawater, was used for energy storage purposes. The selection of the proper electrode material is essential since seawater is a collection of ions with a range of charges and sizes. A meeting of the BIRD consortium was held in Israel. The consortium includes research groups and companies from Israel and the U.S. collaborating on the subject of "Lithium and Sodium Metal Solid State Batteries for Advanced Energy Storage Applications". In the framework of the BIRD consortium, Prof. Aurbach group develop lithium and sodium solid state cells. Thank you to the Israel-U.S. Binational Industrial Research and Development (BIRD)  Foundation and Prof. Noked group (BIU) for organized the meeting.

The Ministry of Energy elects Bar-Ilan University and the Technion to establish a national research institute in the field of energy storage. Prof. Doron Aurbach from the Chemistry Department at Bar-Ilan University, and Prof. Yoed Tzur from the Technion will be leading the new institute. The institute will be established with a budget of 130 million NIS for five years. Good luck! We are proud to take part in such an important national project!

A scientific cooperation agreement was signed between Israeli scientists from all research institutions in Israel and Moroccan scientists in the field of energy. Bar Ilan University and Prof. Doron Aurbach hosted the signature ceremony in the presence of Israel's Ministry of Education, Dr. Yifat Shaha-Biton and H.E. Abderrahim Beyyoudh, Head of the Liaison Office of the Kingdom of Morocco to the state of Israel.
